Dolan Middle School in Stamford is closed on Monday, the district announced, after a fire alarm went off over the weekend due to a water leak that damaged the school's fire protection system and mechanical equipment.
Fire crews from the area responded to the building shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, though there was no fire in the building. Fire crews were able to shut off the water and repairs began shortly after that.
“Belltown (Fire Department) crews shut the water as quickly as possible and performed salvage work,” fire officials said. “The school system has mobilized numerous resources to make repairs and the Fire Marshal’s Office will ensure proper restoration of the fire protection systems.”
Crews are currently working to make repairs to the building and the fire protection system.
